Importing auto parts from China: approval checks instead of homologation risk
Wear parts, body parts, accessories and workshop supplies: we source automotive parts from vetted manufacturers — with OE number matching, fitment checks and a clear statement on which parts need type approval in the EU.
Where auto parts imports fail
With car parts, a mistake costs not just money but potentially the vehicle’s road approval.
Missing approval marks
Lighting without an E-mark, brake discs without ECE R90: such parts cannot legally be sold for road use in the EU. We clarify the approval situation per part category before you order.
Does not fit the vehicle
Returns due to poor fitment ruin margins in the parts trade. We match OE reference numbers and check dimensions and mounting geometry on samples — before the volume order.
Material quality fluctuates
A shock absorber is not a decorative item: we qualify manufacturers with IATF 16949 certification and real manufacturing depth — and test batches against the approved first sample.
What we handle for the parts trade
Manufacturer selection with audit
Many Chinese automotive suppliers already produce for OEM first fit. We find the plants with IATF 16949, in-house testing and export experience — and audit on site.
Sample and batch inspection
Dimensional comparison against the OE part, material testing, salt spray tests for body parts, function tests for electrics — documented per batch before shipment.
Remanufacturing rare parts
Classic car and niche parts no longer available: remanufacturing from a sample or drawing — with dimensional report and material certification.
Customs & DDP for car parts
Correct tariff classification for car parts (chapter 87 vs component chapters decides the duty rate), origin documents and DDP delivery to your warehouse.
How your parts import runs
Send a parts list with OE numbers or a sample part — we check approval requirements and sourceability.
Samples with dimensional comparison against the OE part and agreed tests — released by you.
Volume order with batch inspection and documented quality.
DDP delivery to your warehouse — customs cleared, with an EU-compliant invoice.
Common questions about auto parts from China
Which auto parts can be imported without issues — and which not?
Uncritical: wear and accessory parts without approval requirements — filters, suspension bushings, interior accessories, workshop supplies, body panels for the repair market. Requiring approval: lighting (E-mark), brake pads and discs (ECE R90) and add-on parts affecting road approval. For those categories we verify up front whether the manufacturer holds valid approvals — otherwise we advise against it.
How is fitment accuracy ensured?
In three stages: OE reference matching at the manufacturer, dimensional and geometry checks on samples against an original part, and for critical parts a test installation. The volume order only goes out after your sample approval.
Is importing worthwhile versus wholesale?
For common fast movers with hard price competition, often only from larger volumes. It gets much more attractive for accessories, niche vehicles, non-critical parts and private label ranges — where 40–60 % savings versus EU wholesale are realistic. We show you the full-cost calculation.
