Common toy import questions
Is the manufacturer’s EN 71 report enough?
Only if it is genuine, matches the specific product including materials and colours, and is current. We verify with the lab — and order targeted retests for deviations instead of testing everything anew.
What does EN 71 testing cost?
Depending on product and scope, typically a few hundred euros (EN 71-1/-2/-3); with electronics, the electric toy standard is added. An upfront test plan prevents double or unnecessary testing.
Does this also apply to promotional items with play value?
Yes — what counts is play value, not the sales channel. A plush mascot as a giveaway is legally a toy and needs the same evidence.
