CNC machining to drawing

CNC turned and milled parts from China: drawing parts with dimensional report

From single parts to series production: we have your turned and milled parts made by audited CNC shops in China — with first article inspection, dimensional reports for critical features and material certification to EN 10204.

Where machined parts from China go wrong

Three typical mistakes cost machine builders money on Chinese machining — all three can be ruled out before ordering.

Tolerances treated as negotiable

Without clear inspection requirements, ±0.02 mm quickly becomes “roughly”. We define critical dimensions before awarding the order and have each confirmed in the dimensional report.

Material without certification

Ordered C45, received “45# steel of similar grade”? We clarify material equivalence between GB and EN standards up front and require certificates to EN 10204 type 2.2 or 3.1.

Surface finish & heat treatment overlooked

Anodising without coating thickness, hardening without inspection spec: we specify the complete process chain — including roughness (Ra/Rz), coating thickness and hardness testing.

What we take care of for CNC parts

Shop selection by machine park

We qualify CNC shops by machine park, measuring equipment (CMM, contour measuring, calibration status) and export experience — not by marketplace ranking.

First articles with dimensional report

Before series release we inspect first articles against your drawing — on request as a first article inspection report following VDA 2 or PPAP practice.

Complete handling through to DDP

Anodising, galvanising, hardening, laser marking: we coordinate the process chain and deliver customs-cleared to your plant (DDP) — with an EU-compliant invoice.

Honest full-cost comparison

We convert quotes to full cost — freight, duty, inspection, tied-up capital — so you can compare China prices correctly against EU shops.

Common questions about CNC parts from China

What tolerances are realistic for CNC parts from China?

General tolerances to ISO 2768-m or -f are standard; good shops machine fits to ISO 286 down to IT6. What matters is not the promise but the measuring equipment — which is why we check CMMs and calibration during the audit and have critical dimensions documented in the report.

Do I get material certificates to EN 10204?

Yes. A 2.2 works certificate is standard with qualified shops; 3.1 inspection certificates we arrange via the steel mill or accredited labs. We also clarify material equivalence between GB and EN standards up front — e.g. 45# steel vs C45 or Q235B vs S235JR.

From what quantity are CNC parts from China worthwhile?

As a rule of thumb, from a few hundred parts per year or for machining-intensive geometries — then savings of 30–50 % are common despite freight and inspection. One-offs and urgent parts are usually better left with a local shop; we tell you so honestly after reviewing your drawing.
