Pet supplies from China: customers give no second chance when their animal is involved
Leashes, harnesses, beds, toys, bowls, carriers: the German pet market grows in double digits — and pet owners buy emotionally, review mercilessly and stay loyal when quality is right. We secure exactly that quality from the factory.
The three pet supply risks
A harness snapping near traffic, a chewed-through bowl, a smelly bed — the pet owner writes the review, your brand pays for it.
Pull strength of leashes & harnesses
Seams, snap hooks and adjusters are safety-relevant. We test breaking load per size class (a 40 kg dog pulls differently from a chihuahua) and sample-check every batch.
Substances in mouth contact
Chew toys and balls end up in the mouth: we test phthalates, PAHs and heavy metals to toy or food-contact benchmarks — voluntarily, because the market rewards it and recalls are ruinous.
Sizes & fillings drift
Bed filling weight halved, harness size M suddenly like S: classic production drift. Golden samples, defined filling weights and size charts per batch prevent it.
What we handle for pet retailers
Safety & substance testing
Pull tests, small-parts checks, phthalate/PAH screening, washability tests for beds — per product-type test plan, documented per batch.
Building a pet private label
Pet owners buy brands they trust: your own colours, size logic and packaging — we develop the line with you from small series.
Beds & textiles with system
OEKO-TEX covers, defined filling weights, zipper quality and wash-cycle testing — our textile expertise runs within the pet project.
Straight into the pet channel
FBA-ready labelled or as wholesale delivery to pet chain suppliers: we deliver channel-appropriate — DDP, with an EU-compliant invoice.
How your pet supplies import runs
Send your range or references — we vet manufacturers and propose test scopes.
Samples with pull, substance and practical testing (your own pet welcome) — released by you.

Channel-appropriate labelling and DDP delivery.
Common questions about pet supplies
Which regulations apply to pet supplies?
Fewer specific ones than for children’s products — but the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) and REACH always apply, electrical items (feeders, GPS trackers) need CE/WEEE, and bowls should be food-contact grade. The real standard is set by the market: German pet owners expect toy-level safety — whoever delivers and documents that wins the category.
How do you ensure size specifications are correct?
With a binding size chart per article (neck girth, chest girth, adjustment range) that becomes part of the order. AQL inspection measures against exactly this chart. Size returns are the number one return reason in pet — and almost entirely avoidable.
Is entering against established brands worthwhile?
The market grows faster than the incumbents can supply, and pet owners like trying new things — if reviews are right. Enter via focused niches (e.g. harnesses for large breeds, orthopaedic beds) instead of full range: there, tested quality and honest size charts beat brand power.
